if ur nervous cuz u don’t get the world and ur own experiences or identities or those of others like guess what no one—individually or collectively no matter how much time and civilization and wisdom accumulate— has ever figured the important shit out since the beginning of time. and what u think now u won’t think one second later and in a flash of cosmic time ur dust once more…ur sediment man. so idk..relax..if ur so rigid ur gonna break in this fluctuating incomplete universe. if u allow urself to grow and bend u must be more open and vulnerable and subject urself to radical change
On this Memorial Day, my heart is not with the 85,000 Americans that have died in combat since the second world war. Don’t get me wrong, because their deaths are indeed tragic. Blinded by the thoughtless fervor of nationalism, they died in vain, accomplishing absolutely nothing other than generating profits for those who are in the business of war. They died for capitalism, and nothing else. They are not heroes, and they did not make a sacrifice. Their lives were thrown away needlessly.
My heart is with the people of Iraq. Before the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, do you know how many suicide attacks had occurred in Iraq? None. Since then there have been over 1,000,000 casualties, and the conflict rages on.
My heart is with the people of Afghanistan, where near 150,000 have died since the 2001 invasion.
My heart is with the people of Vietnam, who still suffer birth defects from the 19,000,000 gallons of Agent Orange our government dropped on their land.
My heart is with every single life tainted or destroyed by the imperialism of the United States of America.
No more war.

The day I had my first encounter with a maggot
I can no longer see the stars at night. The city lights are too bright.
